The launch of iPhone 5c and 5s

With the release date of September 20th for US, Australia, Japan and elsewhere, fans are already seen making walkways and pavement roads their second home for the next week. Just to become the first few to get their hands on the new iPhones, some have purchased tents, chairs and even used up all their annual leaves!

How far would you go to get your hands on a new smartphone or any other gadget?

Are people really queuing up this early because they need a smartphone badly? Are they a victim of a devious marketing scheme? Or for the sake of fitting in with the latest trend in society?

Furthermore, not everyone can really afford a smartphone that costs above RM2000. They must be really stretching their budget... Or maybe even borrowing some money. Hmm...

Doubtful Fry is doubtful.

Maybe Will Smith was right;
"Too many people spend money they haven't earned, to buy things they don't need or want, to impress people they don't like"
